Instructors offer such unique specialties as pre and post-natal program design; cross-training and performance enhancement for athletes and dancers; posture and gait training; back care for spinal conditions, and safe exercise programs for seniors.  All instructors hold certificates of completion from training and education programs which meet and exceed the standards of the Pilates Method Alliance and Yoga Alliance.

Cindy Reid, PMA-CPT, is the founder and director of Flow Studio, opened in 2002. Introduced to Pilates in 1993 while dancing professionally, she has been teaching Pilates for 20 years and dance and exercise for 25. Cindy completed several Pilates training courses before finding BASI PIlates(TM). She is now a Senior Faculty member for the BASI Pilates™ Training Program, and teaches two Comprehensive Teacher Training Courses per year at her studio. Cindy is also certified by the Pilates Method Alliance and presents workshops at Flow on injury prevention and biomechanics.  She teaches regular classes at Flow in Pilates repertoire and concepts for reformer, chair, mat, standing strength and dance, and instructs privately students of all ages and abilities. In her years of teaching, Cindy has consistently observed the power of Pilates to heal, re-balance and revitalize one's body and spirit and is committed to bringing clients those positive results. She has an MA from Northwestern University in Performance and Choreography and also has extensive training in functional anatomy and biomechanics, yoga and group fitness. In both group and private instruction, Ms. Reid encourages transferring the detailed work of Pilates into functional fitness for life.  (Tier 3 Instructor)

Jeremy D. Brown began studying Pilates ten years ago with an interest in rehabilitating his personal injuries. While working to overcome a number of serious injuries and trauma he gained a compassionate view of the process of returning to health and humbling insight into the body’s ability to heal.  Jeremy also brings an extensive background in teaching movement with experience training adults in jazz and modern dance, ballroom dance, yoga and Tae Kwon Do. In 2007 he completed his Pilates training with Body Arts and Science International and has continued his education with courses in structural anatomy; hip, shoulder and knee biomechanics; scoliosis; protocols for spinal conditions; postural and kinetic chain assessment techniques; athletic enhancement for athletes and dancers; and maximizing flexibility. Jeremy embraces training people of all ages and abilities and has enjoyed most in Pilates the accessibility and applicability to everyone, whether they are in need of basic movement foundations for daily life or are searching for an edge to make them a more outstanding athlete.  Last year Jeremy completed all three levels of training for the new CoreAlign™ equipment and recently offered at Flow Chicago's first CoreAlign Teacher Training course as a Balanced Body’s CoreAlign™ Master Teacher.  (Tier 3 Instructor)

(Chandra) Lynne Alberding has trained and performed with some of the most renowned ballet masters of the Marinsky Theatre (formally the Kirov Ballet) and has a BFA in Dance Performance from Butler University. She has taught children and adults ballet and contemporary dance for many years. Lynne completed the Body Arts and Science International teacher training program in 2007 and brings to her clients recognition of the benefits Pilates has on a dancer, athlete, rehab patient, and an individual in pursuit of a healthy balanced lifestyle.  She has recently completed several extended education programs focused on alignment, spinal conditions, and Pilates for dancers and is also experienced in creating strength and resistance programs for clients with osteoporosis and post-hip replacement.  (Tier 2 Instructor)

Janine Biskind completed her Body Arts and Science Pilates Training in 2008 after 10 years of private yoga and Pilates practice. Experienced in both dance and equestrian sports, she discovered the benefits of Pilates when she needed to manage her own chronic joint disease. Janine has experience in modifying the Pilates program to meet the needs of individuals with scoliosis, sacroiliac discomfort and postural disorders as well as the prenatal and postnatal client. Janine’s classes often include props and creative additions to the original Pilates exercises. Attention is paid to detail and correct alignment, with an emphasis on conscious and correct biomechanics. Janine strives to promote and enhance the client’s awareness and agility while renewing balance to the body.  (Tier 2 Instructor)

Natalie Rothgeb came to Chicago in 2004 after graduating from Indiana University with a B.A. in English and many hours logged in the Ballet Department’s studios. She is a classically trained dancer, and when she suffered a series of spinal injuries while dancing professionally over ten years ago, it was Pilates she utilized for rehabilitation. After regular Pilates practice restored her strength and enhanced her physical awareness, she pursued and completed the BASI Pilates™ teacher training in 2008. In addition to prior coursework in physics and anatomy, she regularly attends continuing education programs focusing on Pilates for dancers, biomechanics, injury prevention & rehabilitation. Natalie is currently on faculty at the Joffrey Ballet and recently spent several years working with the professional division students and company members at Ballet Chicago. She utilizes her years of teaching dance, ballet training, and time spent in injury rehabilitation to improve her Pilates students’ physical and mental well-being. (Tier 2 Instructor)

Amy Williams became interested in Pilates and yoga while pursuing safe exercise for her structural scoliosis. She discovered Pilates could help strengthen her spine and core, and in 2003, she completed Body Arts and Science International Teacher Training. Amy continues to expand her knowledge of the body and in early 2010 was certified in YAMUNA® Body Rolling. Aside from treating problem areas, she finds it aids in preventing injury and improving alignment and performance in Pilates and other fitness practices. Amy's classes have a strong focus on alignment, mechanics and overload. In addition to teaching, Amy holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University and works full-time as a Business Development Manager.  (Tier 1 Instructor)

Emily L. Haggith brings ten years of personal study and 6 years of yoga teaching experience to her classes. She is certified to teach yoga in both group and private settings. Influenced by the importance of alignment, her detailed instruction increases awareness and emphasizes safety in yoga postures. Instruction is adapted to each student's skill level from beginning to advanced. Her personal practice inspires the application of simple techniques to improve daily life and overall wellbeing. Students leave her class feeling energized, relaxed and ready to take on anything that comes their way! (Tier 1 Instructor)

Kari Schwager holds her pilates certificate of completion from Body Arts and Science International.  As a licensed massage therapist and certified Neuromuscular Therapist (NMT), Kari strives to integrate her knowledge of anatomy and pain management into her pilates training. Kari believes in the power of knowledge and strives to empower each of her clients by educating them and bringing them greater body awareness in order to create positive change. (Tier 1 Instructor)

Maureen Ryan has long held a passion for movement, health and fitness. In college, she competed in Track & Field and Cross Country while earning her BS in Kinesiology. She became a certified P.E./Health teacher and has been providing students with the tools to live a healthy lifestyle for the past 12 years. Maureen has continued to train and participate in many road races including 5 marathons and recently a triathalon. While completing her MA in Counseling, a running injury lead her to discover the benefits of Pilates and a new level of awareness, balance and strength. After 3 years of practice she chose to pursue the BASI Teacher Training in order to share those benefits with others. Maureen is also a Nationally Certified Counselor who helps people recognize their strengths while bringing awareness to patterns and belief systems that can serve as obstacles to overall wellness. She works with clients in a collaborative effort with a focus on using new insights to develop realistic, individualized strategies to create positive, lasting healthy changes. (See Wellness Section)
